Isn't It Romantic: Lydia Bell sings the music of Richard Rodgers

“On 27th October 2018, The Toulouse Lautrec in Kennington was the beautiful backdrop to a stunning evening of songs by the songwriter Richard Rodgers, sung by Lydia Bell. Only a couple of well known standards crept in, while the audience was captivated by lesser known ballads such as ‘Something Wonderful’ and a playful rendition of ‘Mountain Greenery’. With a top class rhythm section, David Swan (piano), Matthew Read (bass) and Boz Martin-Jones (drums), there was no shortage of original and expertly delivered jazz interpretations. Lydia’s soaring vocals kept the audience enthralled through a journey of music ranging from velvety romance to soul-stirring emotions and cheeky up tempo numbers. Her character held throughout; a cool, sophisticated and effortlessly enjoyable vocalist.”
